Ms. Harriss was born in Los Angeles, California in 1963. She is admitted to practice in Arizona, Michigan, the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court, District of Arizona. Ms. Harriss received her LLM in Taxation in 2000 from Wayne State University College of Law in Michigan. She received her J.D. in 1992 from the University of Arizona College of Law. She received her B.A. in Political Science in 1986 from the University of Arizona. Before joining Ryan, Rapp & Underwood, Ms. Harriss worked for ten years as a prosecutor, most recently at the Arizona Attorney General's Office as part of the Fraud and Public Corruption section where she specialized in the prosecution of tax fraud cases. Since entering private practice, Ms. Harriss has worked primarily in the area of tax law representing individuals, corporations and local governments in trial court and administrative proceedings. Her areas of focus include: federal and state income tax, federal employment tax, federal and state criminal tax matters, and state and local transaction privilege tax issues. Ms. Harriss is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Tax Law Section, and the American Bar Association Section of Taxation. |
