Polly S. Rapp

Ms. Rapp was born in Birmingham, Michigan in 1959.

She is admitted to practice in Arizona; the United States District Court, District of Arizona; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ms. Rapp graduated with her J.D., cum laude, in 1989 from the Arizona State University College of Law. She served as Symposium Editor for the Arizona State Law Journal from 1988 to 1989. She graduated with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine in 1981.

Before becoming a member of Ryan, Rapp & Underwood, Ms. Rapp worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Noel Fidel on the Arizona Court of Appeals from 1989 to 1990, and as an associate at Fennemore Craig, P.C. from 1990 to 1996.

Since entering private practice, Ms. Rapp has worked primarily in the area of employment law, representing employers in trial court, appellate court and administrative proceedings, and counseling them on personnel policies and practices. The areas of her focus include discrimination and affirmative action, wrongful discharge and related torts, contracts, restrictive covenants, policies and handbooks, drug testing, privacy issues, federal and state wage and hour laws, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She has co-written sections of the Arizona Employment Law Handbook, the Arizona Appellate Handbook and the Arizona AttorneysO Fees Manual. She also has lectured at seminars and written various articles on employment-related issues.

Ms. Rapp is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Employment and Labor Law Section and the Maricopa County Bar Association.
